Essays

By the end of senior year, it is common for many students to have accumulated a multitude of essays saved to various computer files. There is no expception to that generalization here. Since my freshman year, my ablilty to gather resources and compose a well written essay has greatly improved.

Here are some examples of essays I have written thoughout my high school career:

Constitutional Duties and Obligations- Contemporary Issues, Senior Year

Final Thesis Paper- AP US History, Junior Year

Tourettes Syndrom- Honors Biology, Sophmore Year

Indus River Valley Civilization- Honors World History, Freshman Year

These examples of my work connect to the following expectations:

A2: Improvement in Skill levels- Just from comparing the above essays, it is easy to notice an increase in my writing abilities between my Freshman and Senior years.

A4: Acquire and Evaluate Sources- I had to research and interpret many different topics in order to answer the given question or connect to my thesis statement in an accurate and effective manner.

C2: Respect Diversity- It is important to research both sides of an argument in order to compose a well written essay, a practice that has been used thoughout my papers. It is equally important, however, to respect, or sometimes even defend, groups of people that may be affected by the topic that is being explored, as exemplified in my essay on Tourettes Syndrom.
