About Me

Picture
It is safe to say that my life has been filled with drastic change. Living in a military household, every three to four years I found myself having to relocate from one part of the country to another. Since I was born in Virginia Beach, I have moved five separate times between four different states- Virginia, New Hampshire, Hawaii, and finally Connecticut.  I am used to being the “new kid,” and as uncomfortable of a situation as that can be, it has been something that I have started to embrace.

A school of two thousand plus students, my high school career started in Suffolk Virginia at King’s Fork High School; brand new, state of the art building, but very impersonal. The complete opposite of the school the students of "cow-town Coventry" have known their whole lives.  A move to Connecticut to start my sophomore year was faced with some resistance. I was, after all, leaving behind some great friends and an overall great life for some unknown town in a state I that had barely crossed my mind prior to the move. It was something that I knew I would get over, as I have done many times before.

Three years later, I find myself mere months from receiving a diploma from Coventry High School. Something I know I will be proud to say I achieved, as well as something I know I worked hard for and will continue to work hard for. As small and unpopulated as Coventry High School is, it is without a doubt the school, and the people in it, that has influnced my life for the better more than any other school I have attended.

Focus

The focus of this website is based around what I want to study in college; architecture, as well as construction in general. Whenever I walk into a building two things come to mind: The way in which it is designed, and the process behind its design. The desire to learn and observe the aspects that go into creating effective, well desinged structures has strongly influenced the goals I want to achieve. It is because of that and the desire to create, that the projects that stood out to me throughout high school were the ones where I had to design or build something or where I had to come up with something creative and original. This is reflected in the examples of my work that I have included in this portfolio.
